Sierra Jackson

A professional photographer turned gardener. Back in 2021, after the passing of my sweet 10 year old daughter, Lila, I gravitated towards gardening as a way to heal, to find peace, and solace. As I continue to photograph personally (with a Hasselblad + film), a big career change at that time was well needed and will forever never be regretted. I have 4 seasons of hands on gardening knowledge-everything from gardening vegetables, fruits, cut flowers, perennials, pots/window boxes and shrubs. Currently, I work on Islesboro, Maine with a large crew of gardeners. We work in high end estate gardens-usually located next to the ocean. I’m also micro-farming/gardening in my back yard, in Rockport, Maine (and in the future, at our camp, on Islesboro, Maine).

As I navigate into my 5th summer of gardening in 2025, I will be gardening on Islesboro, Maine, micro-flower farming in Rockport, Maine and will be creating bouquets for my roadside stand. In 2026, I will be available for independent home landscape, vegetable and cut flower gardening. Please be in touch HERE!

Gardening facts about me..

  • In the Winter of 2024-2025, I will be expanding my gardening knowledge with a internship certificate in horticulture with the University of Maine.

  • I adore all gardening, but I especially adore cut flower gardening. Searching for hard to find/unique flowers and new cut flowers. I also enjoy sowing seeds, tending to seedlings, maintaining my own backyard gardens and collecting seeds for next season. A personal goal of mine is to grow seasonal unique flowers and native to Maine flowers -to create bouquets and sell.

  • I hope to educate myself a bit more on Maine native plants, how to implement them in perennial gardens (flower bouquets) and how they impact our ecosystem here in the Mid-Coast.
